Spirit Guides
There are 2 types of spirit guides.
The first type is relatively close to you. These are people that have lived physical lives here and passed on. They were usually friends or family but it doesn’t mean that you knew them. These spirit guides could be great, great, great aunts and uncles or grandparents or close friends to relatives. They choose you, you don’t choose them. They protect and watch over you. They are that voice over your shoulder that comes across as an inner voice that will warn you of danger or direct you down a safer path.
The second type of spirit guide is a spirit that has never had a physical existence but do have similar personalities to us. They are not in close proximity to any specific person. They are there for the general guidance of us all. They can be bold and straight forward or funny and silly or even sensitive to our emotions. These Spirits guide us more on a logical or emotional level.
We all have the first type of spirit guide around us at all times. Some of us has the second type as well. All spirit guides have an aura color associated with them. Most of us have a color we prefer, a favorite color, because of our spirit guides. There is a natural connection between us and them. There are methods to boost this connection and get better in tune with them.

I have learned to trust the voice on my shoulder and have avoided many of the pitfalls that I used to encounter in my youth. For me, life seems to be easier now because of my connection with my spirit guide. I have made better financial decisions and better decisions with my love life. I wouldn’t be as happy as I am now if it wasn’t for my connection with my spirit guide. I have realized that there are things in this world much bigger than me and have learned to trust my logic and intuition.

You do have a spirit guide. In fact, each and everyone one of us has at least one, and sometimes more, according to our needs and where we are in our life’s experiences. Depending upon the circumstances, they can take human or animal form.
They are here to help us, to guide and protect us, and when it looks as though we are torn between two directions, they are the source of the intuitional nudges we receive so that we can make the right choice.
Since our spirit guides usually appear to us in three-dimensional form, even in our dreams, you may think of them as a bridge between the known and the unknown reality. They are possessed of a deep understanding of our individual needs and our inner conflicts.
Often, our conscious mind blocks our ability to communicate with them, or even to recognize their existence, let alone be guided by their caring wisdom. This does not in any way negate their existence. It just means that we must learn to open up our minds and free ourselves from the limiting beliefs we may hold, the ones that tell us such experiences are too strange to be real.
This is one reason why, until we find a way to dissolve the barriers in our conscious minds, they usually make their first contact with us in dreams. In an emergency, however, they are quite capable of appearing full-blown in our physical reality.
Examples of 3-Dimensional Manifestations of Spirit Guides
Last winter, an acquaintance of mine left work early because of a snowstorm. Just before he arrived in front of his house, a dark grey rabbit streaked in front of his car. To avoid it, he braked, but the road was slippery, and his car still skidded a few feet before it came to a final stop.
It was just in time. The twins who lived next door had built a very inexpert toboggan run at the side of their house, and on their first try, they overshot the mark and slid into the street, coming to a halt within inches of his front wheels.
He lives in the City of Lachine, Quebec. As he has said himself, if there are rabbits at all in his area, in wintertime they would be white. He would not have been able to see it in the snow.
For a more personal example, late on the morning of April 30th, 2006 I had to drive from Montreal to Laval to sign some final papers regarding the estate of a great-aunt whom I had never met, but for whom I was named.
Ordinarily, I would have taken the Papineau Bridge (Highway 19) into Laval, but just before I reached the last exit turning away from the Bridge, my father called me on my cell phone and told me, in his usual authoritative way, to change the appointment for another day.
I quickly took the exit and pulled over to the shoulder of the road, shaking. My father had died in March, 2004.
A short time later, approximately when I would have been on Highway 19 where the overpass crosses it, 20 metres of the overpass collapsed without warning onto the Highway.
Did the call really come from my father? I know he loved me dearly, and I loved him. I was with him when he died, and just a few hours before he passed away, he told me he would always watch over me and my daughters.
I believe that in this instance he acted as my spirit guide, a special gift from a loving Universe.
